Cousteau creates online platform for divers to report on marine life

From WTSP: Cousteau creates online platform for divers to report on marine life
St. Petersburg, FL -- The youngest son of the legendary Jacques Cousteau is on a mission to protect the world's oceans.

Pierre Cousteau has created a non-profit Cousteau Divers, an online platform that allows drivers and snorkelers to connect and help monitor the life underwater in real time through science, community and multimedia.

There are 20 million divers worldwide. They're able to take snapshots and report what they see on a regular basis, and Cousteau believes this will help actively protect marine life. Cousteau wants St. Petersburg to be the dive center for the U.S.

The program plans to launch an iPhone app by the end of the year, letting you report your observations right from your phone.
